First Cabin Hakata
Fukuoka, Japan
The short version
First Cabin runs several houses in Japan, and this entry is about the Hakata address alone: upper floors of the Gate's building beside Nakasu-Kawabata station in Fukuoka. Cabins are fitted side by side and divided by partitions rather than by full walls, with a shared bathing floor and locker rooms that serve the whole house rather than a single floor of it.
What the rooms sit in
The house occupies floors of a commercial block rather than a building of its own, so the entrance is reached from inside and there is no street frontage. Beyond the cabins there are the baths, a lounge and luggage storage. The river district and the Canal City complex are within a walk, and the subway exit is directly below.
Worth an email
Ask which floor is open to your party, since sleeping floors are divided by gender and the division can change. Confirm whether luggage can be left before and after a stay. Questions belong to the Hakata address rather than to the chain, as the houses are not run alike.
