About The Guide

fullcourtt is written and maintained by a small editorial group, working from published material only. This page sets out how the eighteen hotels were chosen, which sources sit behind an entry, what the guide deliberately leaves out, and how to tell us that something has changed.

How the hotels were chosen

The list is closed at eighteen hotels in four sections, and it was drawn up so that each section holds one kind of building rather than one price bracket or one country. A hotel is included when it is open, when its operator publishes enough about the building to describe it honestly, and when the building itself is the reason to write about it.

Nothing is added because of a payment, an invitation or a partnership, because none of those exist here. Hotels are not compared with one another and no hotel is presented as preferable to another one on the site.

Which sources are used

Entries are built from the hotel’s own pages, from operator and group material, from maps and street imagery, and from published articles about the building. Where a claim could not be confirmed in one of those, it was rewritten until it could be, or dropped.

The month printed at the end of an entry is the month the text was last read against those sources. It is not a promise about what will be true later; buildings close, change hands and reopen under other names.

What is not here

There are no prices, no star classifications, no room counts, no rankings and no reviews. There are no booking buttons and no links that pay the site. The guide describes buildings and the shared rooms inside them, and it leaves the judgement to the reader.

In the casino hotels section, the four Canadian addresses are described strictly as hotels and resorts: their halls, restaurants, spas and grounds. The floor that gives those places their name is not described, assessed or discussed anywhere on the site.

Reporting an error

Corrections are welcome and are the main reason the site keeps a working address. If a detail here is wrong, out of date or attributed to the wrong building, write with the entry name and, where possible, the source that shows the correct version. The address is on the Contact page.
